Pre-Production
Story-Boardassets to deliver to websites
Preproduction is one of my favorite aspects of filmmaking. Discussing all the concepts of media and its delivery process is nothing short of fun. For each season, we spent a month strategically producing the campaign. My assignments for each campaign were sourcing gear, vetting locations, outlining shoot schedules, storyboarding, and hiring personnel.
Unique to the 2020 Fall/ Winter campaign was securing the routes to film permits in the city of Chicago. Being such an iconic and busy city, we worked with Chicago Transit Authority to reserve locations on the street and full CTA platform use and trains. Permits for this production alone were over $100,000 in cost. The cost was worth the footage and highly beneficial to the brand that season. This resulted in a 28% increase in sales for the 2020 Fall/ Winter season.
Production
Seven days went into shooting all assets for each campaign for Knot Standard, including location and studio assets. My roles on set were to act as Director, Director of Photography and assist our Production coordinator in keeping our production running on time. Working closely with the creative and campaign director Chris Cortez, we shot all content in various aspect ratios for Website, social and in-store display.
Post Production
With all assets filmed, I edited and delivered over 40 - 50 pieces of content per season for the FW18, SS19, and FW20 campaigns. All assets were formatted to fit on a wide arrange of platforms. Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and storefront displays.
Walking into a Knot Standard showroom and reflecting on all the media delivered and countless late nights to deliver on time and on-brand is genuinely humbling. At the end of each campaign, my heart was filled with immense joy and pride in seeing the hard work the team at Cortez Groupe, and I put together.
